Brooke M. Nixon Shareholder

Brooke Nixon practices in the areas of labor and employment law and general business law. With her focus on these areas, Ms. Nixon provides counsel to a wide array of companies and clients to develop preventive measures to minimize risks and avoid the expense of litigation. Ms. Nixon has represented clients in discrimination and harassment litigation, contract disputes, and retaliatory discharge claims. She also works with clients to form new businesses and helps them deal with a variety of workplace issues. Additionally, she provides management and employee training on numerous topics including anti-discrimination and harassment policies, effective discipline, FMLA, employee investigations, FLSA, and retaliation.

Ms. Nixon received her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Alabama and her Juris Doctorate, summa cum laude from Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama. She is licensed to practice in both Alabama and Florida; U.S. District Court, Northern District and Middle District of Alabama; and U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida.

Ms. Nixon is a member of the American Bar Association (Member, Section of Young Lawyers); Alabama State Bar (Member, Young Lawyers, Labor and Employment Law Sections); Florida State Bar; Tuscaloosa County Bar Association; Young Professionals of Tuscaloosa (Director 2012-2016); YMCA Board of Directors (Chief Volunteer Officer 2016); Bessemer Academy Board of Directors (Vice-President 2016-present);Tuscaloosa Human Resource Professionals (Legislative Chair 2012-present); Leadership Tuscaloosa (Class of 2014). She also serves as Adjunct Professor at University of Alabama and Cumberland School of Law.
