David Wayne Childress

David Wayne Childress was born in Empire, Alabama in 1941. He attended public schools in Alabama and graduated in 1963 from The University of Alabama with a degree from the school of Commerce and Business Administration. He received his LLB from The University of Alabama School of Law in 1966.

Mr. Childress served four years with the U. S. Air Force in the Judge Advocate General Division. In 2002, he retired from AmSouth Bank where he served as Vice President in the Trust Division. During his time with AmSouth, he attended and graduated from The National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University.

Mr. Childress is active in the Tuscaloosa Symphony, the Tuscaloosa Rotary Club, Tuscaloosa Estate Planning Council and the First Presbyterian Church of Tuscaloosa. He has served on the Boards of the American Red Cross, Theatre Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County Historical Society and the West Alabama Officer’s Association. He is a member of the Alabama Bar Association and the Tuscaloosa Bar Association.
