Mary Beth Wear Cavert

Mary Beth Wear Cavert, born in San Antonio, Texas, in 1944, has lived in Alabama since 1947. She received a bachelor of arts degree (music), Phi Beta Kappa, in 1966 and a master of arts degree (mathematics) in 1968 from The University of Alabama. In 1985, she received a juris doctorate degree from the same institution.
Ms. Cavert was for nine years owner/partner “in What's for Supper?” which was awarded the Small Business of the Year award in 1990 by the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce. She frequently performs in the area as flutist, harpist and choral singer.
Ms. Cavert volunteers time for the Tuscaloosa Symphony Guild, WUAL public radio, The University of Alabama Arboretum, the Tuscaloosa Public Library, and Tuscaloosa County Master Gardener and she is on the boards of the Friends of the Arboretum and Tuscaloosa's One Place, a Family Resource Center.
Ms. Cavert is a member of the Alabama State Bar and Tuscaloosa County Bar Association and is admitted to practice in the Northern District federal court of Alabama.
