Jane Laird Calamusa

Jane Margaret Laird Calamusa, born in Williamsburg, Virginia, January 19, 1976, was admitted to the bar in 2000. She received her bachelor of science degree in biology, magna cum laude, with honors, and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Alabama in 1997 and her juris doctorate from The University of Alabama in 2000.

She is licensed to practice in Alabama’s U.S. District Courts in the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts and in the Eleventh Circuit. She is also licensed to practice in Mississippi’s state courts as well as the Fifth Circuit and Mississippi’s U.S. District Courts in the Northern and Southern Districts.

While earning her J.D., she was an Articles Editor for the Alabama Law Review, a member of the John A. Campbell Moot Court Board, a member of the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society, President of the Environmental Law Society, Honor Court Justice, and a member of Phi Delta Phi. In 2000, she received the Dean’s Community Service Award.

Ms. Calamusa currently serves on the board of directors for the Tuscaloosa Community Dancers, Inc., a non-profit organization promoting the art of dance.

Ms. Calamusa is a member of the Alabama State Bar and Tuscaloosa County Bar Association.
